Land, Schuette Finally Give in and Join Chorus of Agema Resignation

But Republican National Committeewoman and U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land abandoned her general condemnation of discriminatory comments and demanded Agema’s resignation.

“I think what is best for the party, and is best for Dave, is that he resigns,” Land said in a Friday statement distributed by her campaign.

In Lansing, Attorney General Bill Schuette joined the groundswell among elected Republican officials demanding Agema’s resignation.

“I have encouraged him to resign his position as National Committeeman,” Schuette said in a Friday statement, adding he has talked to Agema. “It is important that we have passionate and respectful debate and discussion on a variety of issues, measured by the strength of our persuasiveness, not the shrillness of our voice.”
